Pablo is looking for a home with gundog experience. He would love company throughout the day and a garden to play in as that is what he is used to.

Pablo would love a home where he goes for long walks and has a job such as gundog training, hoopers or scent work.

Pablo loves people. He gets very excited when visitors come to the door and will bark if he does not know them. He sometimes jumps up at people and it takes a few minutes to calm down, but once he does, he goes back to being completely settled in the home. Outside the home, he gets excited and wags his tail wanting to say hello to people. He can pull on the lead if he sees someone he knows and is eager to greet them. Pablo occasionally barks at people if they are wearing a hat or it is dark. Good at sensing owners may need emotional support, goes to their side to give comfort.

Pablo loves other dogs, but to the point he can get overexcited which can be intimidating for smaller dogs. He is now used to only being let off the lead if the other dog wants to play too. Pablo has experience of being walked with other dogs by a dog walker and loves it. He is used to living with a cat and lets it be but if he sees cats outside, he may look to play with them or bark.

Pablo is fine with being left at home for several hours. When alone, he can bark when he hears people going past the house. He takes a while to settle in the car but he is generally fine. He wears a harness when out on walks. Pablo walks well when there are no other dogs around, but he is eager to play if he spots one and becomes distracted. His recall is also generally good until another dog is around, although Pablo usually comes back after a couple of calls.

Pablo loves doing mind games such as hide and seek with a ball or using a lickimat. We think he would love attending special training in his new home for classes such as Hoopers, Scent Work or gundog training. He is driven by his stomach and loves food – although he does not like cucumber. He loves a good walk but on days when the weather is bad he is happy to go in the garden and do mind games at home. He responds very well to training. He tolerates being brushed and has experience of going to a groomer.

Pablo is a really happy dog, used to chaotic family life and loves people and dogs. He also loves retrieving. His hyperactivity and eagerness to say hello can mean he sometimes invades others’ space, but this could be worked on in his new home. Settled at home, he is very patient and affectionate.

Please consider applying for Pablo if you have an active and loving home with gundog experience.
