Beautiful Heidi is looking for a new home that must have Border Collie experience and she must be the only dog in the home. Heidi will need a home willing to continue her training and it must have a garden; Heidi would love a country home. However, her new home and garden must be secure as Heidi has gone wandering in the past.

Heidi can be timid around strangers but goes up to friends happily to say hello. She can be left for a few hours and does not seem to have separation anxiety but Heidi really enjoys human company and lots of attention. She loves treats and is good at not jumping up. She is intelligent and has learned to sit, stay, wait and lie down so far. She is great at getting in the car and travels well.

Out on walks, Heidi is a typical Collie in that she is obsessed with playing ball and will ignore other dogs while playing as she is so focussed. If a dog bounces over to her and gets in her space she may growl out of fear, but generally ignores or is fine with other dogs. Heidi will pull on the lead, she wears a harness on walks. Her recall also needs work.

It would be very beneficial if Heidi’s new home has experience of Border Collies; Heidi has some quirks such as being afraid of the hoover, spray cleaners, sudden loud noises and objects or people in the dark. She is sensitive to any touch on her rear end. She has been to the groomers and kennels before and faired okay.

Heidi loves to play with humans – fetch with a ball outside and with toys inside the home. However, she is not so good at giving up toys! She has a great zest for life when she is playing or being happy to be around you. After a big play, she is very content to lie down for a snooze.

Heidi would love a calm yet playful home in the country with lots of love to give. Please apply if this is you.
