Cooper is a handsome Border Collie looking for an active new home. Cooper is very friendly with people and children. He will happily greet strangers, children or visitors to the house. He is very calm around children therefore he could live with children aged 8 years plus.

Cooper loves human attention and enjoys a good cuddle on the sofa. He has been to the pub and was very well behaved. Cooper likes to use his brain especially when it comes to dog food puzzles/games. He would possibly enjoy something like scent work, where he can sniff out his favourite treats. Cooper is very intelligent and will certainly thrive in a home where they will continue with some training.

Cooper does have some typical Border Collie traits. He has been known to try to herd dogs when out on walks. For the past couple of years Cooper is walked on lead and doesn’t get off the lead. He has shown reactivity to some dogs. It is mainly male dogs. He does have a couple of dogs that he is ok with but they are mainly female. When Cooper first heads out on walks, he can be a little bit frantic and may react to birds, cats etc, however he does settle into his walks. Cooper will need to continue training in his new home, his owners are currently trying to work on his reactivity with the back up of our Welfare Coordinator. Cooper doesn’t travel great and can be nervous and car sick. He is getting better but support will be given in the new home for his travelling and his reactivity if required.

Cooper is needing a new home where his owners have experience with Border Collies and dogs that are reactive to other dogs. He would prefer to live somewhere not too busy, perhaps in the countryside and no flats. Cooper needs access to his own secure garden as this will be a safe place for him to relax in and have an area where he can be off lead and have fun.

If you have the experience, time and a cosy spot on the sofa to give this fun loving, cheeky boy a new home then please fill in an application form for him!
